❯ rhyme god
A rhyming dictionary for songwriters. Works entirely offline, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Getting started
Type a word and the rhymes appear as you type, with the rhyming part of each one lit up. The list runs best first and quietens as the rhymes get further away.
Questions
- Can I search a phrase?
- Yes — the last three words count. "door hinge" finds "orange", and "orange" offers "door hinge" back. Phrases get two-word rhymes of their own: "chew it" finds "do it".
- How do I keep the words I like?
- Tap one. Kept words gather above the search bar, where "copy" takes the whole line. They last until you close the app. Long-press a word to copy just that one, or drag it straight into another app.
- Does it work without a connection?
- Always. The whole word list ships inside the app. Rhyme God has no network access at all — on the Mac it isn't even permitted to open a connection.
- Why does a word I expect not appear?
- Rhymes are worked out from pronunciation, not spelling, so words that look alike but sound different won't meet. If a word is missing entirely, it isn't in the dictionary the app is built from — tell us and it can be added.
- Does one purchase cover all my devices?
- Yes — iPhone, iPad and Mac share a single purchase.
