Rhyme God — privacy policy

Rhyme God collects no data.

Everything runs on your device. There are no accounts, analytics, ads or trackers, and the app never connects to the internet. On the Mac it isn't allowed to: the app is sandboxed with outgoing connections switched off. On Android it asks for no permissions at all, including internet access.

What you type

What you type is never saved or sent anywhere. Words you keep while writing are held in memory only and are gone when the app closes. A word goes to your clipboard only when you copy it.

Looking words up

A word's meaning and synonyms come from a dictionary and thesaurus built into the app (WordNet, cut down to the app's words), read on your device. Looking a word up further opens the dictionaries already on your device, through the system's own Look Up; the app sends the word nowhere. On the Mac, Look Up is a system feature that can also show Siri Suggestions, which you control in System Settings › Spotlight.

Haptics

The ticks and taps you feel are made by your device's own haptics, in the moment. Nothing about how you use the app is recorded.

Settings

Your theme, text size, the haptics switch and the other settings are saved on your device. They are never sent to us — there is nowhere for them to be sent to. If you back your device up to iCloud or to a computer, they are included in that backup, the same as any other app's settings. On Android they are excluded from system backups entirely.

Children

The app collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here and shown in the app under the cog.
